"Supervision is a conversation between peers that ultimately fosters the well-being of the absent other." ~ Mary Rose Bumpus
As spiritual directors, we always want to bring our best selves to the ministry of direction. Having our own spiritual director helps us continue on our own journey of self-discovery and assists us in being attentive to the movement of God in our own lives.
In addition, having good supervision can help us understand what is happening in us when we sit with a particular directee as well as offer us help in the actual practice of spiritual direction.
Peer Supervision Groups at Kavanna House
Online Peer Supervision
Kavanna House offers monthly, online peer supervision for spiritual directors located outside the York, Pennsylvania area. These sessions are facilitated by Vicki Scheib, a spiritual director at Kavanna House and an instructor for Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction. Each session is 90 minutes in length. The online peer supervision community will have a maximum of six (6) participants.
The cost for an initial introductory session is $30/person. Following the first session, participants desiring to continue within the online supervision community will register and pay for a full year (10 sessions, no sessions in July or December) at the cost of $250. There will be no refunds provided for missed peer supervision sessions over the course of that 12-month period.
