Volunteering and Monthly Donations

What is it about Kavanna House that resonates with you?

What gifts do you have that God might be calling you to share with Kavanna?

Cohort and Retreat Hostess/Host

Kavanna House is active on 20-25 weekends throughout the year with two-day cohorts, one day retreats for various classes and designated personal retreat days.

An invaluable support for the cohort and class retreat days is a hospitality volunteer on-site from approximately 7:30 am – 1 pm on each day. On these occasions, the primary duties are: to keep the coffee, hot water and snacks replenished; and, to set up and clean up the continental breakfast and lunch.  This service allows the instructors to be fully focused on the class.

For personal retreat days, the primary responsibilites are opening and closing the house, setting up the materials in the reserved room(s), orienting the guests to Kavanna House and providing a welcoming presence for our retreat guests.

Training and detailed instructions are provided for each of these assignments. And, our intention is that these days may also provide our volunteers with some moments of quiet and a keen awareness of the presence of God.

Snack and Breakfast Item Donations

If making and/or preparing food for our course participants, spiritual directors and directees, and retreat and house guests is life-giving to you, another opportunity to support Kavanna House is through committing to donate baked items, snacks and/or the light breakfast items we provide.

Kavanna House maintains an online sign up sheet for both our volunteer and donation needs.  Please click here to see how you might be able to help. You can also contact Kristin Peterman for more information.
